Frequently Asked Questions
Should a nutritional plan always be very strict and monotonous?
No, a nutritional plan should be tailored to the person’s lifestyle, eating culture, schedule, financial situation, and personal preferences. My task is to create a personalized menu that helps the patient achieve the desired goal while also building adherence to the plan. This ensures that the results are sustainable over time, as a healthy habit is established.
Do I need to buy supplements to achieve aesthetic changes?
Not necessarily. This will depend on the patient’s goals and their ability to manage their meals. For example, a protein supplement can replace a meal when someone’s job or lifestyle makes it difficult to consume a certain portion of protein. Likewise, for high-performance athletes, specific supplements may provide a competitive advantage during their training.
When can I expect to see results from a hypertrophy or definition program?
Results will vary from person to person, as everyone responds differently. Generally, patients aiming to reduce body fat start noticing good results within the first month, with more visible changes by the third month. From the sixth month onward, their physique can look significantly different. On the other hand, gaining muscle mass is a slower process—noticeable changes usually appear after six months, although differences can already be seen as early as the third month.
Are there training routines that can help me improve my results faster?
There are no universal routines that automatically improve a patient’s physique or performance. What’s essential is that the coach designs a personalized training program that challenges the patient during each mesocycle, while also preventing injuries or overtraining that could hinder progress. Training volume and intensity should be adjusted month by month to promote the well-known process of supercompensation, while also including proper deload phases.
I’m an ectomorph. Can I still gain muscle mass even though I’ve always been thin?
Yes. Somatotype classification only reflects a person’s current state at the time of evaluation. The human body has the ability to adapt to its environment, meaning that a person’s current physique is largely the result of their lifestyle, diet, exercise habits, and genetics. By changing the first three factors, we can influence the body to express its genetic potential differently, allowing muscle growth even in naturally thin individuals.
Do you recommend the use of performance-enhancing substances or drugs?
As a health professional, I do not recommend any substances for enhancing sports performance or for purely aesthetic purposes. These types of drugs should only be prescribed by medical specialists, and only when necessary to treat an existing health condition.
